AWHF Kicks Off “Settle the Score” Campaign at Calgary Wild FC Match

On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation (AWHF) proudly served as the Featured Match Day Sponsor at the Calgary Wild FC’s match against AFC Toronto. The event celebrated the powerful intersection of sport, research, advocacy, and shined a light on the urgent need to address systemic inequities in healthcare for women and girls—a powerful message during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Fans of all ages joined in the excitement at the activation booth, enjoying the photo booth and entering the giveaway for four tickets to the October 16th Calgary Wild FC game, a $150 Hillberg & Berk gift card, and a Calgary Wild FC swag bag. Moments like these demonstrate the unifying power of sport to connect communities, raise awareness, and drive action for change.
Congratulations to our big winner, Emilia (pictured left)!
The match also served as the launch of our joint “Settle the Score” campaign, a province-wide initiative in partnership with Calgary Wild FC.
This campaign shines a spotlight on women’s health and equity both on and off the pitch, highlighting persistent gaps in care such as delayed diagnoses and limited access to critical programs. These gaps—and many others—are being brought to the forefront, driving awareness, research, and action, so that we can Settle the Score for women’s health.
Over the next three years, this partnership will leverage stadium activations, community engagement, and digital campaigns to build a movement that bridges research, advocacy, and real-world impact. Through the Settle the Score campaign, we are working to ensure that women and girls across Alberta have the support they deserve, both in sport and in life.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Calgary Wild FC, the fans, volunteers, and community partners who made this activation such a success. Thank you so much for your support and your enthusiasm! If you visited the photo booth, see below for some memories.
And to AFC Toronto, who stole the match with a score of 2-1, just wait until the rematch…
